Finney County Welcomes New Director of Public Health

Garden City, KS — Finney County is pleased to announce Katrina Lowry as the new Director of Public Health, effective May 5, 2026.

A Garden City native and Garden City High School graduate, Lowry brings a strong background in healthcare, early childhood development, and community services. She holds bachelor’s degrees from Manhattan Christian College and Kansas State University, as well as a master’s degree from the University of Denver. Lowry’s experience includes roles as a Child Life Specialist in Houston and Wichita, as well as leadership positions in early childhood education. Since returning to Garden City in 2010, she has served in key roles with the Finney County Community Health Coalition and Russell Child Development Center, most recently as Early Childhood Programs Director.

“We are excited to welcome Katrina to the County team. Her passion for serving others and advancing community health aligns perfectly with our mission, and we look forward to the positive impact she will make,” said County Administrator Derek Ramos.
