Joe Lombardo Botches Colorado River Deal

After Joe Lombardo botched negotiations, Attorney General Aaron Ford is suing the Trump administration over cuts to Nevada’s access to the Colorado River. Thanks to Lombardo’s failure, the Trump administration is trying to cut Nevada’s allocation of Colorado River water by 71 percent over the coming years. Nevadans are already facing rising water shortages and utility costs on Lombardo’s watch.

Only focusing on caving to his “billionaire friends,” Lombardo called data centers a “gold rush” as they worsen Nevada’s water shortage. In fact, Lombardo raked in over $2 million in campaign contributions from pro-data centers and AI donors that are jacking up Nevadans’ costs.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Kate Sosland released the following statement:

“Nevada being forced to give up a sixth of our water allotment from the Colorado River is yet another example of Joe Lombardo’s ‘direct line’ to Donald Trump failing Nevadans. Our state is already facing severe water shortages and instead of standing up to the Trump administration to save Nevada’s water access, Lombardo is too busy championing water guzzling data centers.”
